Today’s game is Arkham City. I’ve knocked out a major chunk of the game in a time span of a few hours and i’m close to the end. I just have to do Wonder Tower and then joker i believe. Somehow though it feels like it hasn’t been that long. I mean, i only have 9 hours logged on the game. it’s surprising how fast it’s going, maybe i’m just used to modern games not being limited in length by Disc size like back in the 360 days though.

With how much i knocked out of the story, it gives me an excuse to talk about one of my favorite all time boss fights in gaming. That being Mister Freeze’s. The Arkham combat and the cycle of him coming up with counters each time you do a take down is super satisfying. When i was younger this boss fight was so intimidating that i just couldn’t play it because you were in constant flight mode basically, and even now it has me a little on edge to play. It’s an awesome boss fight and genuinely one of my favorites.

On the opposite end though is Bane, who’s side quest i have never done until now. I knew he betrayed you but i was honestly hoping for a boss fight with him, not the whole cut scene where batman traps him and that’s it. Still love seeing him show up since he’s one of my favorite Batman Villains, but would have loved a chance to fight him is all.

Backtracking a bit, Having done the main story that means i also did the League, which, can i say, for an ancient secret society that is highly trained and efficient, they have really boring headquarters. I mean, a item of great significance is basically kept in backroom of the house. I’m not mocking the game, but it is something funny i noticed. The boss fight that comes with this location is great though. It’s a challenge definitely isn’t as fun for me as the Freeze fight, but using the REC to fire through the gaps is super satisfying.

Finally, on my way back i also made sure to grab the Killer Croc secret. Killer Croc is another character that unsettles me and therefore is pretty high on my list of characters i like, so it makes me happy to see him show up in some capacity here.
